Access to and use of this site ('www.sexualhealthprofessional.org.uk') is provided by the Department of Health and the Department for Education and Skills ('Us'/'We') subject to the following terms:

Using this site
You agree to use this site only for lawful purposes, and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of, or restrict or inhibit the use and enjoyment of this site by any third party. Such restriction or inhibition includes, without limitation, conduct which is unlawful which may harass or cause distress or inconvenience to any person, and the transmission of obscene, or offensive content or disruption of normal flow of dialogue within this site.
Information collected by us is used for internal review, to improve the content of this site, to customise the content and/or layout of this site, and to notify users about updates to this site and is not shared with other organisations for commercial purposes.
Registration
All Sexual Health Professionals are encouraged to register for this site by logging their details on the site and requesting registration.
Requests are sent to the communications team at DH and DfES. They will confirm verification to the site administrator. In the event that they do not know the person requesting registration, they will refer to their communications contact at the relevant organisation and ask them to verify registration. They will confirm verification to the site administrator stating the name of their contact at the relevant organisation who provided verification.
Verification of registrations requests from staff at national organisations will be carried out by the Department of Health and Department for Education and Skills.
In this way all registrations are verified by colleagues from within the sexual health professionals' communications network and the site administrator will have a record of all verifications.
If you are a contractor from an external agency who has been given access to this site to help you deliver communications for a sexual health professional's organisation, you may only use material gained from this site solely in relation to your work for that organisation. This site contains privileged information, which must not be disclosed to anyone from outside the sexual health field.
When you register you will select a password to enable you to use the site. You must not pass your registration details or password to anyone else, or allow any other person to log-in to the site using your details.

Links contained in this site will lead to other websites which are not under our control. We are not responsible for the content of any linked site. Listing and linking should not be taken as an endorsement of any kind and we accept no liability in respect of the content. We cannot guarantee that these links will work all of the time and have no control over the availability of the linked pages.
Changes to / operation of the website
We may change the format and content of this website at any time or suspend its operation for support or maintenance work, in order to update the content or for any other reason.
Privileged content
Some of the content in the site, particularly around forthcoming business and announcements, is privileged information and is provided to sexual health professionals in trust to enable them to better plan and manage their work. Site users should exercise discretion if sharing this information and ensure that others are aware of its privileged status, and must not pass this information to anyone outside the NHS. Embargos must be strictly adhered to. Users of this site are individually responsible for the information they obtain from this site.
Forums and noticeboards
The discussion forums and noticeboards are provided to help communicators share materials, ideas, resources, challenges and solutions. You must ensure that:
- Any contributions you make are civil and tasteful;
- You do not post unlawful (including but not limited to UK libel and slander laws) or objectionable material, material that is harassing, defamatory, abusive, threatening, harmful, obscene, profane, sexually explicit, racially offensive or otherwise objectionable is not acceptable and will be removed.
Privacy policy
In accordance with the Data Protection Act, we have a legal duty to protect any information we collect from you. We will only use your information for the purpose as described and will not pass your details on to any third party unless you have given us permission to do so. You have a right to access your personal data and change any inaccuracies.
You are not obliged to make your contact details public in the user directory. However, as the site is only for Sexual health professionals to access, we strongly encourage you to do so to help you and your communications colleagues get in touch with each other and share your ideas and experiences.
We do not use persistent cookies for collecting user information. Log files allow us to record visitors' use of the site to enable us to enhance the site. Log files may also be used to track downloads of information in the event of any unauthorised disclosure of information about forthcoming business and announcements, but this would not be a regular practice. If the privacy policy changes in any way, we will place an updated version on this page. Regularly reviewing the page ensures you are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it and under what circumstances, if any, we will share it with other parties.
